The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran have developed a system for regulating shipping in In the Strait of Hormuz, dividing all states into three categories, depending on the level of relations with Tehran.

According to the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera, Iranians now view states as "hostile," "neutral," and "friendly."

Vessels of "enemy countries" will be completely banned from using the strait, "neutrals" will be subject to high levies, and "friends" will have the right of free passage.

The full list is not given in the material, however, according to the TV channel, almost all the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf are classified as "neutral" or "hostile".

They will either have to pay substantial duties or look for workarounds. Al Jazeera notes that the introduction of categories for user states represents a change in the status of the strait.

Earlier, EADaily reported that Saudi Arabia intends to expand the network of oil pipelines in order not to depend on transportation through the Strait of Hormuz. However, these pipelines lead to the equally dangerous Red Sea. So you still have to negotiate with Iran.
