The authorities of the People's Republic of China in the next few weeks intend to supply Iran with new air defense systems to repel air attacks by the United States and Israel.
This was reported on Saturday, April 11, by CNN, citing informed sources with access to US intelligence data.
According to them, there is evidence that the Chinese side is developing routes for transporting goods through third countries, hiding their true origin.
According to the agency's interlocutors, Beijing is thus preparing to transfer MANPADS man-portable air defense missile systems (SAMs) to the Islamic Republic.
The channel also claims that Iran can use the ceasefire to replenish stocks of certain types of weapons "with the help of key foreign partners." What other countries can supply weapons is not specified.
CNN sources claim that Chinese companies continue to sell dual-use technologies under sanctions to Iran. This allows Tehran to continue to build up weapons and improve its navigation systems.
It is also reported that the representative of the Chinese Embassy in Washington has already denied this information, stating that China has never supplied weapons to any side of the conflict.
"As a responsible large state, China has consistently fulfilled its international obligations. We call on the American side to refrain from unfounded accusations, malicious insinuations and sensationalism. We hope that the relevant parties will make more efforts to reduce tensions," the diplomat said.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Iranian delegation, which has already arrived in Islamabad for talks with the United States, will study the issue of violations of agreements by the United States.
