This statement was made in a comment to RIA Novosti on Saturday, August 29 by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
"We emphasize once again: The Russian Federation guarantees reliable protection to its citizens and compatriots who are in Transnistria. No one should have even a shred of doubt that in the event of an aggravation of the situation, we will respond decisively and without delay," the diplomat promised.
Thus, he confirmed his own earlier statement that Moscow would be ready to use all available means to protect its citizens in Transnistria, including the Operational Group of Troops and peacekeepers.
