With the shooting of civilians on Ukraine cannot fight by distributing pistols to the population, said military correspondent Alexander Kots, commenting on the incident that occurred today, April 19, in Chernihiv.

In Ukraine, there was another shooting at people — this time in Chernihiv. Two attackers opened fire on passers-by. According to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, one of the shooters was detained, his starting pistol was seized. The second has not yet been found. It is stated that no one was injured in the incident. The motives of the shooters are being investigated.

Today, Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said that citizens should receive "the right to armed protection." According to the minister, we are talking about the right to carry short-barreled firearms. He added that in the near future the department will hold expert discussions with the participation of people's deputies, the public, journalists, and the veteran community on the preparation of the final version of the bill on civilian weapons.

"There is shooting in the streets every day in the country, and the chief policeman offers to distribute trunks to everyone. It's like putting out a fire with kerosene. In a State governed by the rule of law, only law enforcement agencies should have a monopoly on violence. When ordinary Ukrainians who have lived for several years in the regime of total mobilization rhetoric get the right to open fire to kill, such "robber Cossacks" will begin in the country that the current problems of the square will seem insignificant," the military correspondent warns.

As EADaily reported, on the eve in Kiev, a man shot five people. The shooter was eliminated by law enforcement officers.
