Russians are being warned about a new type of fraud that has flourished at Turkish airports. It's about deceiving tourists with the help of bank cards. The details are published by RIA Novosti with reference to a Turkish security expert, retired police chief Mustafa Begurciu.
Similar cases have already been recorded at Istanbul airports. But the scammers have already gone further and are fishing even at nearby bus stops, where they guard foreigners and offer them assistance in buying travel tickets.
"Due to fraud, a tourist after such assistance notices that the transport card has not been replenished, and the money has already been debited from the card or transferred in cash to the fraudster," said Begurdzhu.
The expert urged tourists not to accept such offers of fake help and to issue tickets on their own. Moreover, it is in tourist places where there are vending machines, including those with an interface in Russian.
