Jack Buckby, a columnist for the American edition of 19FortyFive, explained in a published article why the States, which own advanced military equipment, are in no hurry to write off the "aircraft for the destruction of Soviet tanks." We are talking about the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft, created during the Cold War and used during the operation in Iran.
Initially, the A-10 was conceived specifically for the destruction of Soviet tanks over the battlefield. But the air vehicle performed well even under the conditions of air defense systems.
Jack Buckby especially pointed out the fact that there are very few models and modifications in the world that can be on combat duty for a long time. Plus, they fly at low altitudes and promptly destroy the intended targets.
EADaily also informed earlier that the work on improving the Su-57E has been confirmed.
