The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Progress MS-34 cargo ship to the International Space Station (ISS) took place without any flaws, NASA noted.
"The launch was flawless, the Soyuz stages worked perfectly, delivering Progress to the preliminary orbit," NASA emphasized, which showed the launch in a live broadcast of Roscosmos.
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Progress MS-34 cargo ship to the ISS was carried out at 01.22 Moscow time.
The truck will deliver more than 2.5 tons of cargo to the ISS, including fuel for refueling the station, sanitary and hygienic products, oxygen for the internal atmosphere of the station, food and drinking water for the crew.
Currently, a crew of seven people is working on the ISS: Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikaev and Andrey Fedyaev; NASA astronauts Christopher Williams, Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, as well as European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adeno.
