The Azerbaijani "Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus" justified the destruction of churches in Karabakh, calling the criticism of these actions by the Armenian Apostolic Church "a manifestation of hostility and disinformation."

Baku stated that the churches were allegedly built illegally, and the Azerbaijani citizens themselves allegedly turned to the authorities with a demand to demolish all the buildings "that did not exist before the occupation period."

The statement was followed by criticism of the Mother See of Echmiadzin about the demolition of Armenian churches, in particular, the destruction of a large Cathedral in the former Stepanakert, and now Khankendi, caused a special resonance.

However, the Kavkazar telegram channel emphasizes that the Caucasus Muslims Office is being deceitful, because ancient temples, as well as monuments built in the XIX century, are also being destroyed, and monuments of the Soviet period are under threat.

"Baku clearly intends to erase any hint of the presence of Armenians in the region and is ready to find any excuse for this," the channel's author notes.

The author of the telegram channel "Ugur Mammadov" emphasizes for his part, the temple is not a building, the temple is a temple.

"And everyone understands this. An attempt on a temple, cemetery, museum, monument is an attempt on the soul, memory, faith. Those who attempt to do this dehumanize themselves," he said.

According to Mammadov, the participation of the UMK "in this shameful case is a blow to Islam as a humane and peaceful religion."

"I won't even comment on the requests of workers. Also a dubious mockery. Which speaks more about the stupidity of the one who is trying to mock. Azerbaijan wants so much to be a civilized country, tries so hard to do so. But suddenly the animal interior breaks through — and everyone sees some kind of ISIS blowing up Palmyra, some kind of dense Taliban living in a slave-owning system," Mammadov writes.
