Explosions thundered this morning, April 29, in Orsk in Orenburg region. Air defense is working on Ukrainian drones attacking the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery. Local residents reported "several explosions and shooting."
The head of Orsk, Artyom Vorobyov, wrote in his telegram channel at 7.38:
"Dear Orchids! The danger of a UAV attack on the territory of our city. Please do not panic and follow the procedure when attacking drones. Please do not go outside and do not approach the windows."
Temporary restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft have been introduced at Orsk Airport, the Federal Air Transport Agency reported.
Local residents told the Shot telegram channel that several explosions and gunfire were heard in the northwestern part of the city. Smoke is visible after the explosion. People write in public that the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery has been attacked.
PJSC Orsknefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, part of the ForteInvest holding.
The refining capacity is about 6 million tons of oil per year. The company produces a wide range of products: gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, aviation kerosene and other petroleum products. Orsk Refinery plays an important role in the supply of oil products of the Urals and Volga region, some of the products are exported.
Orenburg Governor Yevgeny Solntsev also reported in the telegram channel in the morning that "today enemy UAVs attempted to attack several industrial enterprises." According to the Russian Defense Ministry, four drones were shot down by air defense forces over the territory of the region. There are no casualties. As Solntsev noted, the danger of repeated attacks remains.
