"The society of people who are foreign agents is preferable to me than the society of patriots," Mamin said❶.
According to the director, he earned the "title of foreign agent" a long time ago, back in 2019. Then he left the country with a statement that "there was nothing to breathe in Russia."
Yuri Mamin❶ was born on May 8, 1946 in Leningrad. He is known for such films as the short film "Neptune's Holiday" (1986), "Fountain" (1988), "Sideburns" (1990), "Window to Paris" (1993). He also directed the TV series "Russian horror stories" (2001-2003). Since 2019 he has been living in the USA.
As EADaily reported, giving Mamin❶ the status of a foreign agent, the Ministry of Justice indicated that he opposed a special military operation on In Ukraine, participated in the creation and dissemination of materials by foreign agents, as well as disseminated false information about decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies.
