French President Emmanuel Macron raised his voice at the Africa Forward summit in Nairobi and scolded the audience for "disrespect."

Macron interrupted the session on culture because of the noise in the hall.

"Sorry, everyone! Hey! Hey! Hey! I'm sorry, guys, but it's impossible to talk about culture when people like that, who are so inspired, come here and perform with such a noise," Macron said in raised tones, quoted by RIA Novosti.

The French leader called what was happening a manifestation of disrespect and invited those who wished to continue personal communication in rooms for bilateral meetings or outdoors.

The Africa Forward Summit is being held in Nairobi on May 11-12. The event is organized jointly by France and Kenya. It is designed to bring together leaders of African countries, representatives of international financial institutions, the African Union and the EU, as well as investors and representatives of civil society to discuss the prospects for the development of the African continent.

As reported by EADaily, France ceased to be the main native speaker of the French language — the epicenter migrated to Africa. This was recognized by the country's President Emmanuel Macron.
