Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he was not afraid of Russia's possible use of the 102nd military base stationed in Gyumri to protect its citizens.
According to Pashinyan, regardless of the laws in force in Russia, the database should work within the framework of Armenian legislation.
"No, there are no concerns, because the military base, regardless of what laws are in force in Russia should function within the framework of Armenian legislation and under the jurisdiction of Armenia," Aysor quotes Pashinyan.
On May 13, the State Duma adopted a law, the norms of which allow, by decision of the President of Russia, to use the armed forces abroad to protect Russians. 381 deputies voted in support of the legislative initiative. There were no abstainers or opponents. The law still needs to be approved by the Federation Council, and then signed by the president.
