"Eurotroika" issued a meaningless statement about the desire to negotiate with Russia

The leaders of the "Eurotroika" countries (Great Britain, France and Germany) called for the active participation of Europeans and the United States in negotiations with Russia on ending the conflict on the Ukraine. This is stated in their joint statement published following the talks in London.

"They supported the proposal to establish a direct dialogue between Ukraine and Russia — with the active participation of the United States and European countries — in order to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate further negotiations," the document says.

In their opinion, "Europe should play an important role in any settlement," and called for further measures to be taken in close cooperation with Ukraine, other European countries and the United States. At the same time, Erovrotroika listed several conditions for achieving long-term peace on Ukraine. First of all, they call for an immediate cessation of all hostilities and negotiations based on the established line of combat contact. At the same time, they oppose any change in the state borders of Ukraine by force and insist on "legally binding guarantees" for the Kiev regime, which, in their opinion, among other things, should include the deployment of a foreign military contingent with the participation of countries from the so-called coalition of willing.

In addition, Eurotroika opposes defrosting and returning The Russian Federation of its sovereign assets blocked in the West until the end of the conflict and "until Russia compensates for all the damage" caused to Ukraine during the fighting.

"Any deal should include guarantees of European security interests. Any elements of negotiations concerning The EU and NATO should be coordinated respectively with the EU and its member states, as well as with NATO allies," the communique says.

Recall, Western countries condemn Russia's actions on Ukraine and strongly support Kiev. This fact does not allow them to be considered a neutral party to the conflict and claim the role of negotiators. The leaders of the Eurotroika held a meeting on June 7 with Vladimir Zelensky, who wants to force them to increase military and other assistance to Ukraine and increase pressure on Moscow.
