At first they laughed, and now they repeat: the French put "barbecues"

France has officially unveiled the upgraded Leclerc XLR tank, equipped with a lattice protection against drones, which in Russia was nicknamed "barbecue". According to Defense News, the structure covers the upper part of the tower and is already being delivered to the troops.

It's funny that similar solutions that appeared on Russian technology back in 2022 were initially ridiculed in Western social networks. But combat experience has proven their high effectiveness against FPV drones, and now Paris, like many other armies, is forced to copy a time-tested design.

The prototype was developed by the technical department of the French army, and mass production was set up by the KNDS France concern. So the ridicule turned into a confession.
