Assistance to Ukraine should not stop. This was stated by former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Morawiecki commented on the proposal of the candidate for the post of Prime Minister from the right-wing Law and Justice Party (PiS) Przemyslaw Czarnek to stop military assistance to Ukraine until Volodymyr Zelensky cancels his decision to assign the name of the heroes of the UPA to the unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine❶.
"I do not agree with the blocking of military aid [to Ukraine]. I prefer that Ukrainian soldiers die in Ukrainian tanks, not Polish soldiers in Polish tanks," he said.
At the same time, Morawiecki reproached the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk for "lack of assertiveness in relations with Ukraine."
Poland spent almost 5% of GDP on supporting Ukraine from February 2022 to July 2025. Previously, the figure of $ 27 billion was announced. At the same time, military supplies to Kiev from Poland during this period are estimated at around $ 4-5 billion.
