The White House supported a bill providing for the introduction of new sanctions against Russia, said one of the authors of the bill, Senator Lindsey Graham.

"The bill will allow President Trump to impose duties on any country that bought cheap Russian oil," Graham said .

According to him, the bill will primarily affect the five main countries that bought Russian oil for its further processing and resale.

Graham added that after almost two years of work, the senators managed to approve a version of the bill that the White House agreed to support. Now, according to Graham , he, along with other authors of the bill, will ensure that the document is adopted by Congress.

The adoption of the bill does not mean the imposition of sanctions, it gives the US president the right to impose them or not to impose them at his discretion.

Graham also announced new areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States that will help "increase the lethality" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
