Students of all Russian higher educational institutions will be required to study four humanities subjects, which will include the Russian language.
This was reported on Saturday, July 11 by the RIA Novosti news agency, referring to the statement of the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Konstantin Mogilevsky.
"The fundamental core of humanitarian subjects within the framework of the updated system of higher education will include four disciplines. This is History, Philosophy, the Foundations of Russian statehood and the Russian language," he said.
The Deputy Minister stressed that his department intends to unify approaches to teaching these disciplines and update their content taking into account modern scientific achievements. We are talking about a pilot project.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in the upcoming academic year will begin to gradually introduce a new subject in schools called "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia" (DNCR).
