If the US attacks our infrastructure, we will return the Arabs to the age of camels. This statement was made by the official representative of the Central Headquarters of the Iranian armed Forces "Khatam al-Anbia" Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfagari, Mehr news agency reports.
"If the United States dares to attack Iran's infrastructure, we will destroy all infrastructure facilities in the region as if they never existed, and return the Arabs to the era of camels and sandals," the general said.
According to him, Iran categorically will not allow the United States, as an external force, to interfere in the affairs of the Strait of Hormuz.
The warning came in response to a statement by US President Donald Trump about his intention to strike at Iranian power plants and bridges next week if Tehran does not return to negotiations.
"The Iranian strike will not be 'equal', but 'superior' — more brutal, large-scale and destructive than ever," the general further said.
The US military has already carried out several waves of air strikes on Iranian facilities. By July 16, the total number of strikes since July 7 exceeded 300. The targets were military bases, missile sites and coastal reconnaissance points in southern Iran.
At the beginning of the day on July 16 (that is, before or shortly after Zolfagari's statement), the Iranian armed forces retaliated against American bases and facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.
