Belarusian entrepreneurs want to bill Wildberries for lost goods

A letter has been sent to the Ministry of Economy of Belarus in connection with the "negative consequences for the Belarusian business of incidents at Wildberries warehouses in Russia." This was reported in the Minsk Metropolitan Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (MSPIR).

It is reported that MSPIR informed the economic department in a letter that the business union is now summarizing the problems of entrepreneurs caused by this situation. At the same time, it became known that the union's experts have already developed a number of recommendations for sellers from Belarus who suffered after fires at Wildberries warehouses on Russian territory. The main problem for them is to understand what damage has been done and receive adequate compensation.

The Association of entrepreneurs drew attention to the fact that the public agreement between the Belarusian sellers and the Belarusian legal entity Wildberries (LLC "IMBRB") suggests that references to fires on the territory of the Russian Federation cannot be considered as grounds for refusing compensation on the basis of force majeure circumstances (force majeure).

"In order to minimize the damage to Belarusian enterprises, it is necessary to combine the efforts of the business community and the competent authorities of the state administration of Belarus," the MSPIR is convinced.

The Union proposed to hold a working meeting under the general coordination of the Ministry of Economy in order to assess the consequences of a series of incidents at the marketplace warehouses, draw up a joint action plan and implement it.

"According to some reports, currently more than 22 thousand business entities of the Republic of Belarus keep their products in Wildberries warehouses in the Russian Federation. The damage caused by fires for Belarusian enterprises is just beginning to be assessed," the letter says.

Recall, Ukrainian drones have not stopped attacking marketplace warehouse complexes in Russia since mid-July. Because of this, some of the goods were destroyed. As a result of the attacks, there are dead and injured.
