Imported equipment: The Orsk refinery stood up for up to six months

After the APU attack, the Orsk oil refinery stood up and its repair could take up to six months due to imported equipment.

"As for the plant in Orsk that suffered from the terrorist attack. The situation there is complicated. The striking elements have touched the key infrastructure, which cannot be restored yet," the governor of the Orenburg Region, Yevgeny Solntsev, said in the telegram channel.

According to him, the equipment at the refinery is imported and, taking into account the sanctions, the repair time will be delayed up to six months.

"The plant is completely stopped. We are preparing for the worst-case scenario. You will have to rely on imported fuel. Logistics is already being reconfigured. Of the 287, 80% of gas stations are operating. Let me remind you that special transport is a priority today," the governor wrote.

At the gas stations of the region, the situation is not simple everywhere, but regulated, Yevgeny Solntsev believes.

"Volunteers and traffic police officers help drivers, distribute the flow of cars at the gas station, and also continue to inform citizens about the new rules on fuel release. And here I want to appeal to every car enthusiast: you need to be patient. The work system will be rebuilt. I ask you to treat each other with respect. Especially to those who volunteered to help in this situation," the governor added.

The Orsk refinery has a capacity of 6 million tons per year and is several times inferior to the largest refineries in Russia. However, it will be a significant loss for the region and the country in the current situation.

The day before, Yevgeny Solntsev said that restrictions were being imposed on the sale of fuel at gas stations. So, after noon on August 12, a new procedure was introduced at all gas stations in the region: fuel is released to individuals and legal entities by day, depending on vehicle license plates (even, odd numbers).

Also in Orenburg region introduces limits: gasoline (Ai‑92, Ai‑95) — not less than 15 liters and not more than 30 liters in one hand; diesel fuel — up to 60 liters within settlements and up to 200 liters at gas stations located on inter-municipal, regional and federal highways within the region.

As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack Russian oil refining and petrochemicals. In response, the government is taking measures to saturate the market. Experts say that the balance can be maintained, but the situation is on the verge of deficit every time.
