The largest operation to transfer Russian oil bypassing the EU continues on the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The number of tankers could increase to ten or eleven.

The operation to transfer almost a million tons of Russian oil through the Northern Sea Route in one caravan continues. All vessels have already left the Laptev Sea, and a large advance group of tankers is making the transition to the East Siberian Sea. There are a thousand miles left before the end of the Arctic route, which will take about five days.

At the same time, the caravan itself stretched 500 miles into the Laptev Sea. According to AIS data, Ligovsky Prospekt, Viktor Bakaev, Vostochny Prospekt, Liteyny Prospekt and Dynasty are in the advance group. Two-hundred-meter tankers are sailing today past the Anjou Islands between the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea.

But Jagger has lagged behind and is located between the advance group and the catching tankers Primavera and Mirabelle. The last ship stopped at In the Kara Sea, when bypassing the islands from the north to enter the Laptev Sea, an icebreaker approached it. The reasons are unknown. However, the ship continued on its way.

Glavsevmorput publishes maps that the caravan of ships will again encounter ice between the East Siberian and Chukchi Seas before entering the Bering Strait, and nuclear icebreakers did not accompany the caravan today. "Arctic", "Siberia" and "Yakutia" were clearing a route around the islands between the Kara Sea and the Laptev Sea today. Obviously, for the following vessels. According to AIS, 2-3 more tankers could enter the route.

At the same time, the Ural icebreaker continues to be located in the Chukchi Sea, which will be able to conduct a flotilla of tankers through the last ice fields before the end of the route.

The navigation season has begun on the Northern Sea Route and the largest oil transfer is carried out by vessels controlled by Sovcomflot. They can carry more than 950 thousand tons of oil, which are now worth more than $ 500 million on the market.

Obviously, the operation is being carried out to bypass EU countries, off the coasts of which seizures of sanctioned vessels have become more frequent. So, all tankers proceed from the Baltic ports and are under sanctions of the USA, the EU and Great Britain. Therefore, navigation on the Northern Sea Route will allow not only to take the shortest, but also the safest route to China. The tankers plan to get to China after August 20, judging by the transmitted data.
