Aggravation in Afghanistan: the Taliban are being beaten

According to the portal, the situation in the Afghan province of Badakhshan has seriously worsened. Clashes between the Taliban and the armed opposition, including with the participation of the Freedom Front of Afghanistan and the forces of field commander Juma Khan Fateh, covered at least five key districts — Maimi, Zebak, Nusay, Shahi and the outskirts of the city. Members of the Freedom Front of Afghanistan and supporters of Fateh organize constant attacks on vehicles and positions of government troops, forcing the Taliban to disperse forces.

The fighting is concentrated in the Nusay district, where Fateh forces have been holding control over a number of settlements for several days and successfully repelling Taliban attacks. As a result of these clashes, the local infrastructure suffers significant destruction: in Nusay, the Taliban seize markets and liberate residential buildings, turning them into fortified positions. This forces civilians to leave their homes en masse and seek refuge in Fayzabad.

Incidents involving Taliban military equipment occurred in the Zebak and Shahr-e-Buzurg districts. As a result of shelling and unsuccessful maneuvers, the vehicles of law enforcement agencies and reconnaissance units fell into the gorges. This led to serious injuries of several security forces. Representatives of the Taliban have not yet disclosed information about the losses, limiting themselves to reports on the elimination of "hostile elements." However, the intensity of the fighting and the growing flow of refugees indicate that the Taliban are losing control of the region.
