Poland has lifted military aircraft into the air

Polish military aircraft on duty were lifted into the air amid alleged Russian activity on the Ukraine, according to the operational command of the branches of the armed forces of Poland.

"Military aviation has started operating in Polish airspace… Ground—based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been put on alert," the operational command's page on the social network X.

The Polish military claim that the measures taken are of a preventive nature and are aimed at ensuring security in the territories bordering "vulnerable areas."

Recently, the Polish military has been publishing such messages regularly. Usually these actions coincide with the announcement of an air alert on Ukraine.

The NaTemat information portal previously reported that regular fighter sorties were allegedly due to the activity of Russian aviation on Ukraine is very expensive for Polish taxpayers. According to the official data of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry's responses to various parliamentary requests received in recent years, the flight hour of the Polish F-16 fighter costs 76-77 thousand zlotys (about 21 thousand dollars).
