Western agencies downplay the losses of the Kiev regime from the shutdown of Ukrainian seaports after retaliatory strikes by the Russian army and the losses from downtime may be greater. This was stated by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.
"There is no exact data on the downtime of Ukrainian ports, different sources speak about completely different figures," Mykola Azarov said in a video comment for TASS.
He cited Bloomberg's assessment, which claims a loss of 2.2% of Ukraine's GDP.
"I think more. I calculated, I did it taking into account the weight of export items in GDP is about 5.5−6% of GDP," Nikolai Azavrov said.
"If we stick to the forecast of the Kiev regime, which assumes a GDP of about $ 225 billion in 2026, the losses could reach $ 11-$ 13 billion," the former head of the Ukrainian government added.
As EADaily reported, Russia is stepping up retaliatory strikes and has stopped Ukraine's maritime exports, attacking the country's ports and ships going there.
