The White House will announce plans for Ukraine in the coming weeks

The talks between US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of the American leader with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine were "meaningful", further steps will be announced in the coming weeks, reported Reuters and Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing a White House spokesman.

Today, on September 6, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to meet with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.

As EADaily reported, earlier, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov commented on the meeting in the Kremlin of President Vladimir Putin with envoys of the US president.

"Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner promised to use the observations and assessments received from the Russian president regarding reaching a sustainable peaceful settlement during contacts in Kiev," Ushakov said.

He also said that during the meeting the real successes of the Russian army in advancing in the combat zone were noted, confidence was expressed in achieving the goals set.

"The need to eliminate all the root causes of the conflict was emphasized. The intention has been confirmed to continue working together with the Americans to find political and diplomatic solutions," Ushakov said.

The negotiations were recognized as timely and very useful for both sides. It was confirmed that the presidents of the two countries will continue personal contacts. Work on the line of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner's campaign will also be continued, the Russian presidential aide concluded.
