Russia takes the information about the activation of the Kiev regime's troops on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border very seriously.
This was stated in an interview with the TASS news agency by the head of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Polishchuk.
"Against the background of obvious failures in the zone of its own, the Kiev regime is capable of the most reckless steps," he said.
The diplomat assured that the provocations of the Ukrainian side against Belarus will be adequately responded to in accordance with the military doctrine of the Union State.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, external aggression against the union state will be qualified by Russia as an encroachment on the common union territory.
Polishchuk recalled that a joint regional grouping of troops, as well as modern Russian defense complexes and tactical nuclear weapons, are currently deployed on the territory of Belarus.
As reported by EADaily, earlier President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that his country does not want war, but will be able to give a tough response to any provocation.
