The Rosgvardiya adopted the AK-12 assault rifle of the 2023 model, which was refined based on the experience of the special operation. This was announced today, August 30, by the Kalashnikov concern.
The corresponding decree of the Government of the Russian Federation was signed on August 28.
"This 5.45-mm caliber model is the pinnacle of the development of the AK system," the concern's press service said. — A number of technological updates have been introduced into the AK-12 of the 2023 model, which have improved its operational qualities. At the same time, the improved AK-12 has retained its traditional reliability and resistance to external influences. Contracts for the manufacture of AK-12 are growing annually and the company successfully ships products to the troops on time."
The weight of the AK-12 with a magazine without cartridges is 3.7 kg. Total length (length with unfolded butt), 875−935mm, with folded butt — 690 mm. The aiming range is 800 meters. The rate of fire is 700 rounds/min.
