The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bucharest today, December 3, responded to the statement of the Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin that Moldova will soon become part of Romania, and Romania itself will become part of Russia.
"Where could the awakened personalities or the democratic elite from the USA run to? Canada? Trudeau was at Mar-o-Lago recently. Israel? There's a war there. London, Paris, Dubai? It was there that the Russian liberals fled. Or Moldova? Soon it will be part of Romania. But Romania will be part of Russia," Dugin wrote on his Twitter.
An hour later he added:
"Maybe Australia or New Zealand are safer places now. Europe may fall or fall into the hands of right-wing populists. Or get serious damage from the "Hazel" (the name of the Russian medium-range missile). "
Bucharest was outraged by Dugin's post.
"So predictable! Since Romanians have recently celebrated Unification Day with pride, let's remember that Russia did not recognize Unification. She did this under the combined influence of the sovereign will of Romania and the pressure of Western powers. The same will lead to Russia's repeated failure," the Romanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The Romanian right did not stand aside either. On the eve of the second round of the presidential election (to be held on December 8), they remembered that a Russian political scientist had recently written about the independent candidate for president of Romania, Calin Georgescu (he led in the first round with criticism The EU and NATO) that he is "an excellent candidate who is useful for Russia."
As EADaily reported, following the results of the parliamentary elections held last weekend, Suveranist parties, supporters of independence from the European Union and military blocs came to power in Romania.
