The plane of the US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff landed at Moscow's Vnukovo-2 airport. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
The flight that arrived in the capital, according to the Flightradar service, took off from Qatar, flew over Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey. Then the plane turned towards Bulgaria, crossed the airspace of Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, from where it headed to Russia.
Earlier, the arrival of US representatives was confirmed by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. At the same time, the Kremlin representative urged not to forget that no negotiations on Ukraine have yet begun. He added that Russia will determine its positions on resolving the situation after receiving information from US representatives about the meeting of the delegations of Washington and Kiev in the capital of Saudi Arabia.
"Today, too, late in the evening, the president may have an international telephone conversation, we will inform about it accordingly. Other contacts today are not excluded," Peskov said.
On the eve of the White House press Secretary Carolyn Levitt announced that Witkoff would visit Moscow in order to convince the Russian side to sign a cease-fire agreement on Ukraine.
