Several thousand Turkish citizens marched through the streets of Warsaw to express support for the Turkish opposition politician arrested by Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
The demonstrators marched from the Charles de Gaulle roundabout towards the Krakow Suburb. According to media reports, "thousands of Turkish citizens" living in Poland took part in the event. Coupled with numerous protests against the placement of Middle Eastern migrants in Poland, the demonstration in defense of Imamoglu also caused a negative reaction among Poles.
So, Polish political scientist Adam Gwyazda, posting a video of the procession, wrote in his blog:
"Foreigners are bringing their conflicts and wars to our territory!"
In turn, a Polish political blogger under the nickname "Crown of Warsaw" asked rhetorical questions:
"Is this how guests behave!? Aren't there too many of them?"
Earlier, EADaily reported that residents of the Polish city of Radom, outraged by plans to create an integration center for Middle Eastern migrants, stormed into a meeting of the city council.
