MP from the opposition party "Alliance for the Unification of Romanians" (AUR) Dan Tanase said today, May 20, in parliament that the party led by ex-presidential candidate George Simion will not participate in parliamentary consultations with President-elect Nikushor Dan.
He called the results of the vote a farce, adding that "AUR will not approve of this masquerade."
"AUR refuses to participate in simulated parliamentary consultations and procedures for the formation of a new government. We will not legitimize an abusive president — another puppet of foreign interests. Romania needs a democratic revival, transparency and leadership that serves the people, not networks of interests or embassies," Tenase stressed.
Earlier, Simion published a statement on social networks in which he promised his supporters that he would file a complaint about the voting results. He will challenge the victory of the pro-European candidate Nikushor Dan, although he previously agreed with his defeat. The AUR leader called on all supporters of sovereignty and independence to fight for the country through participation in opposition parties.
Simion accused France of interfering in the internal affairs of the country in order to promote the puppet pro—European candidate, Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan. He also stated that the vote of the Romanian diaspora in Moldova was falsified.
As reported by EADaily, George Simion said that interference in the internal affairs of Romania comes "from the globalist elite of Brussels, which views the country as a pawn in its geopolitical games." He stressed that "Europe's suveranist politicians are under constant pressure from globalists," and he may even be physically eliminated.
