The Moscow drama theater "Vernadsky, 13" became a victim of fraudsters, having lost its budget. A message asking for help was published on the official portal of the theater and on social networks.
"Without exaggeration and unnecessary drama, we speak honestly and frankly — they took everything we had. Now every ruble is a salvation for us," the theater said in a statement.
The theater announced a fundraiser, and also opened ticket sales for its performances for September, October, November and December.
"The main support for us in this situation is to come to our performances," the theater staff emphasizes.
According to the telegram channel Mash, 4.5 million rubles were transferred to fraudsters by the artistic director of the theater, thinking that she was helping the investigation. For several days, fraudsters worked with her on the phone on behalf of the alleged FSB and the Central Bank. As a result, she was persuaded to transfer all personal and theatrical money to the "secure application of the Central Bank."
