If the Washington authorities refuse to cooperate with federal structures, a state of emergency will be imposed in the city. This was stated by US President Donald Trump, commenting on the refusal of the mayor's office to cooperate with the FBI on migration issues.
"The District of Columbia has gone from one of the most dangerous and murder—ridden places in the United States and even around the world to one of the safest - in just a few weeks. It is thriving, restaurants, shops and businesses are crowded, and for the first time in decades there is practically no more crime there," he wrote on Truth Social. "But now, under pressure from radical left—wing Democrats, Mayor Muriel Bowser has announced that the Metropolitan Police Department will no longer cooperate with agents of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service in matters of expulsion and resettlement of dangerous illegal immigrants."
If this happens, the US president "will declare a state of emergency and, if necessary, resort to federalization."
