Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, gave the impression of a self-confident political leader, said British analyst Alexander Merkouris.
"During this speech, I was impressed with Putin that he was relaxed, confident and witty again ... In general, I got the impression that he is a very confident political leader, someone who feels that the situation is increasingly developing in his favor," Merkouris said on his YouTube channel.
The expert compared the atmosphere at the Valdai meeting with the situation at the EU summit in Copenhagen, where, according to him, "anger and fear" were felt.
