In the administration of US President Donald Trump, there is growing concern about the state of his cognitive functions. This was stated today in his article on the Substack platform by investigative journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, citing his own sources in the White House.
"Perseveration… I was thinking about this term, which I have heard many times over the years, when my close relative was experiencing degeneration from dementia, watching the 71-minute speech of US President Donald Trump in front of about 800 American generals and admirals... at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia, on September 30... The most important thing, as I they said Trump, always a master at handling the audience... is no longer able to "read the room"... It would be fresh and perhaps unprecedented for Trump to present his views on foreign policy and give the assembled generals and admirals the opportunity to ask questions... Instead, they got a repeat of Trump's greatest triumphs," Hersh writes.
Trump once again preferred to talk about how many conflicts he put an end to. The military and officials who attended the event noted, according to the journalist, signs of "mental disorganization and inability to concentrate on key topics."
Some close associates of the US president regard such speeches as an alarming symptom of "increasing cognitive impairment," manifested in loss of focus and repetition of the same phrases, Hersh stressed.
As reported by EADaily, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Mike Johnson actually agreed with Congresswoman from the Democratic Party Madeleine Dean that US President Donald Trump is unwell. The corresponding video was published by the American TV channel MSNBC.
