The customer of the kidnappings of Zenit football player Andrei Mostovoy and businessman Sergei Selegen in St. Petersburg is located abroad. This was confessed by one of the detained defendants in the cases, the video was posted on the Telegram channel of the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.
"I have never seen him in my life. I only know that he is not from Russia. From where, we were not told," said one of the defendants.
Another explained that he was offered to "earn money" and "fake detention." The third detainee stated that they received all instructions by phone.
Currently, five people have been detained in the case of the attack on the Zenit football player and the Russian national team Andrei Mostovoy and the kidnapping of businessman Sergei Selegen. According to these facts, criminal cases have been initiated under articles on kidnapping, attempted kidnapping and robbery. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the organizer of the kidnappings is a sophomore student of one of the St. Petersburg universities.
50-year-old businessman Sergei Selegen is the son-in-law of State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Makarov. The man was grabbed near the store and pushed into a car, demanding ransom. Selegen said he was ready to transfer 2.5 million rubles in cash, provided that he was released. After that, he called his wife and asked her to bring this amount.
