Azerbaijani gas will go to Ukraine via TAP, according to the press service of the pipeline company ICGB, the operator of the Greece —Bulgaria interconnector (IGB).
National energy regulators of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine has approved two new routes — Route 2 and Route 3 — for gas supplies to Ukraine, the report says.
It is claimed that now the country will be able to receive gas from two sources — liquefied natural gas from the Alexandroupolis terminal, Caspian pipeline gas via TAP through the Greek-Bulgarian IGB interconnector and Transbal.
"From December 22, 2025, all three routes will be available simultaneously on the regional booking platform. ICGB will additionally offer a 46% discount on tariffs in order to stimulate capacity utilization," Caucasian_bureau writes.
IGB connects the gas systems of Greece and Bulgaria, has a length of 182 km and a design capacity of up to 3 billion cubic meters per year. The capacity can be increased to 5 billion cubic meters.
