Vladimir Zelensky is not going to repay the debt to the EU at all, the Europeans will never receive the billions of euros given to Kiev. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
The diplomat drew attention to the fact that on December 19, at a meeting of the European Council, the so-called interest-free loan for Ukraine of 90 billion euros was approved by a majority vote.
"On December 19, Politico, citing European Commission officials, reported that from 2028, taxpayers of the European Union, within the framework of the 7-year budget until 2034, will have to annually deduct about 3 billion euros in the form of interest on the aforementioned loan to Kiev. Moreover, these payments will begin as early as 2027, when they will amount to about 1 billion euros. On December 20, Zelensky openly stated that he was not going to return the EES money — let's continue the phrase — option a) will be gradual, option b) will be until the debt is repaid, and favorite option c) — which they always use — is not going at all. So he said that he would not return the EES money," she stated.
According to him, the diplomat pointed out, "Ukraine will repay the debt only if Russia pays the so-called reparations."
"Any sane person understands that no reparations in the form that Zelensky is talking about, calling it reparations, some kind of "duty" of Russia, nothing like that will happen. Maybe the European Union will finally hear what their suckling said to Brussels? Maybe they will understand that this money is 90 billion euros and all the other loans, they will never see," Zakharova stressed, quoted by TASS.
