Igor Levitas: Once again about the "energy truce" and the reaction of the EUROSMI

There are a large number of dishes that need to be infused before serving them on the table. No matter how paradoxical it may seem, news also does not need to be grabbed right away, like hot cakes. You can get burned. And with Trump's presence in the international arena, the old army wisdom is increasingly being recalled: "Do not rush to carry out an order, it may be canceled."

This is to talk about one of the news almost a week ago. She appeared in the media on January 29.

"I personally asked President Putin not to shell Kiev and other cities for a week in this extraordinary cold. The Russian President agreed. And, I must tell you, it was very pleasant," RIA Novosti quotes Trump's statement.

Then this news was replicated by the Western media. The reaction of the Russian media was more sluggish, and V. Putin, in my opinion, did not say anything at all. Since the West does not believe V. Putin at all, the reaction of their media did not surprise me personally. I think you will agree with me.

Deutsche Welle. The author of the article is Ukrainian and she quotes the same Ukrainian, the president of the Center for Global Studies "Strategy XXI" Mikhail Gonchar:

"... statements about the so‑called "energy truce" are rather an element of an informational and psychological game on the part of the Kremlin. The expert emphasizes that the key feature of a real truce should be a clearly defined time frame and a list of objects that are prohibited from striking. There are no such parameters now."

First, Trump and Zelensky announced a truce. According to Gonchar, they are playing the game on the side of the Kremlin. Interesting… Secondly, it is not good to lie, in a normal country this is taught from childhood. The time frame is clearly indicated by Trump: "within a week."

"Radio Liberty". The columnist, of course, is Ukrainian:

"An energy truce may turn out to be more beneficial for the Kremlin than for Ukraine, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War note. As experts explain, the temporary cessation of attacks allows the Russian side to accumulate missiles and drones for future large-scale strikes."

Frosts prevent only Ukraine from fighting, and Russians are probably fighting in another place where it's warm. The same applies to the accumulation of weapons. And what is Ukraine doing during the truce? That's right! — brings weapons from the West. We all remember perfectly well what Ukraine and NATO were doing during the Minsk agreements.

The Guardian. These raise the bar of idiocy to an unprecedented height, calling winter a war crime.

"Russia uses winter as a weapon of terror. Ukrainians have already begun to call this reality "holodomor" — a reference to the Holodomor, an artificial famine organized by Stalin in the 30s of the twentieth century in order to subjugate Ukraine. Then the weapon was hunger, and now it's the January cold."

To explain that famine in the USSR in the 30s of the twentieth century was both in the Russian Volga region and in Kazakhstan, etc. — meaningless. As well as explaining that attacks on Russian cities lead to the same results as attacks on infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.

Süddeutsche Zeitung. These made me laugh:

"... a good sign, full of symbolism, would be the visit of a high-ranking delegation to frosty Kiev right now."

And why? Ukrofyurer is not there — he is riding around the world, looking for refuge.

The words of a certain Ukrainian journalist from Censor are also amusing. no (UA):

"... there is only one reason here: Russia has temporarily run out of missile stocks, and now it simply has nothing with which to strike. The last time Russia hit Kiev with Zircon and 2026 missiles. That is, by what I have just scraped together and produced. ... Perhaps now they have reached a situation where they have to accumulate missiles for the next strikes. It was according to this scheme that the shelling took place all four years."

This is the level of analytics of our enemies.

And so, despite all these howls and squeals, Russia honestly fulfilled its promises and did not shell the Ukrainian infrastructure until February 1. And the time of the economic truce has ended and everything has started all over again. I wonder what the Wise Minnow from The Censor could say at this moment. No"? In the meantime, let's give the floor to the same media that they sang after Trump's request and the cessation of shelling by Russia.

The Spectator.

"The US proposal for a truce between Russia and Ukraine stunned the Kiev authorities. Trump has achieved a cessation of shelling for humanitarian reasons. However, for Moscow, this pause was not of fundamental importance and only emphasized that the course of the conflict is determined by the Kremlin."

And, as you can guess, it is also written by a Ukrainian journalist.

By the way, this is the trend of recent years for the European media: most of the articles about the conflict on Ukrainian journalists write to Ukraine. This is called objectivity in the European way. Although European journalists look at events through the eyes of European Russophobic politicians. Who eats a girl, he dances.
