Convicted of embezzlement, embezzlement and money laundering, as well as for bribery, former Deputy Defense Minister [under Sergei Shoigu] Timur Ivanov filed a lawsuit against the military department in connection with ignoring a request to conclude a contract with him and send him to a special military operation zone. This was announced by his lawyer Denis Baluyev.

"Such a claim was sent by Timur Vadimovich to the court. So far, I have no information about its acceptance for production," the defender told RBC.

Ivanov announced his readiness to serve in the military operation zone back in October. Baluyev then said that his client was ready to carry out combat missions as part of any assault unit. The lawyer called the decision of the ex-deputy minister "absolutely sincere and deliberate."

"[He] is mocking—" the military correspondents responded.
"During the Great Patriotic War, we would still have believed that this thief could get into attack aircraft. Now, his former bosses and friends, who have not been planted yet, will obviously shove him into the tenth echelon of defense, blind him with a beautiful story of "redemption" for a lot of money,"the authors of the telegram channel "Two Majors" comment on the situation with Ivanov's lawsuit against the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"This scum, who has destroyed the Russian Army for years together with her reindeer herders, has no right even to a ghostly hope. Too many lives are due to this thief," the military correspondents note.

EADaily reminds: On February 11, the Moscow City Court canceled the decision to transfer Ivanov's apartment building and plot to the state in the village of Razdory in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region, thereby returning his expensive real estate to the former deputy Shoigu. Earlier, the Moscow City Court officially announced the cancellation of the decision of the first instance regarding the land plot and residential building, without specifying whose property was returned. The court session was held in a closed mode for the press.

The first instance refused to satisfy the requirements of the Prosecutor General's Office for the seizure of property totaling 1.2 billion rubles only in part of the appeal to the state revenue of a Bentley Continental GT 2004 car issued to Ivanov's ex-wife Svetlana Zakharova. The rest of the department's claim was satisfied in full.

Timur Ivanov has been Deputy head of the Ministry of Defense since 2016. He oversaw the construction projects of the department. Ivanov was detained in April 2024, at the same time he was removed from office. In July 2025, Ivanov was sentenced to 13 years in a general regime colony on two counts of embezzlement on an especially large scale and money laundering. He was found guilty of embezzlement of 216.6 million rubles. during the purchase of ferries for the Kerch crossing, as well as the theft and laundering of 3.9 billion rubles., previously owned by the bankrupt bank "Intercommerce".

Ivanov is also on trial for receiving bribes on an especially large scale (part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, he received three bribes worth more than 1.35 billion rubles. In January, the court extended the arrest of the official until April 23, 2026.
