The niece of the murdered Iranian General Kassem Soleimani and her daughter have been arrested in the United States. This is reported on the website of the State Department.

It is noted that Hamideh Suleimani Afshar and her daughter were arrested after Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked their status as legal permanent residents (LPR). They are now in the custody of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service.

"(Living in the USA, Afshar) She actively spread propaganda of the Iranian regime, approved attacks on American soldiers and military facilities in the Middle East, praised the new supreme leader of Iran, called America the 'Great Satan' and expressed her unwavering support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps," the State Department said in a statement quoted by The Jerusalem Post.

In addition, Afshar's husband is banned from entering the United States.

Similar measures were previously applied to the daughter of the former secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Larijani, and her spouse. The couple was deported, both were banned from entering the country, the State Department added.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also announced the arrest of Soleimani's relatives on the social network X.
