The EU calls on Tehran to stop responding to US and Israeli strikes and resume shipping in The Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by the Chairman of the European Council Antonio Costa.
Costa said he had called Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
"In a telephone conversation with President Pezeskian, I stressed that the EU calls on Iran to immediately stop attacks on countries in the region and restore freedom of navigation in Strait of Hormuz. Escalation will not lead to a truce and peace, only negotiations will do it," he wrote on his page in one of their social networks.
Recall, after the US and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, Tehran closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is critically important for energy supplies to the EU. This has caused a serious fuel crisis in Europe, as Brussels refuses to buy oil and petroleum products in Russia.
