Europe sees Ukraine as a human shield against Russia. This was stated in social networks by Verkhovna Rada deputy Daniil Getmantsev.
So he commented on the statement of the chief of the Belgian General Staff that Europe benefits from prolonging the war in Ukraine until 2030.
"Our European partners, with their statements, sometimes, recently even too often, simply force us to go beyond the diplomatic protocols. Especially when they start planning how much more Ukraine needs to fight so that Europe has time to get together and show something to the Kremlin leaders. All these "planners" should understand the main thing: Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens are not a resource. Not a tool for solving someone's geopolitical problems. Moreover, it is not a human shield that you can hide behind for a while," said Hetmantsev, quoted by Strana.
He noted that "Ukraine is striving for peace — sustainable, reliable, guaranteed and fair."
"Not until 2030, but as soon as possible… To end it (war. — Ed.) and live on. And not to be a victim on the altar of building a new world order," the deputy stressed.
Recall, the chief of the Belgian General Staff, General Frederic Vansina, in an interview with the newspaper Soir, said that the war on Ukraine should end before 2030. According to him, this will give Europe time to prepare to repel possible aggression from Russia.
"By 2030, if we continue the current trajectory, we will be significantly stronger than we are today. And by 2035, I believe, this strategic autonomy of Europe will be achievable — provided that budgets continue to grow. 2030 will be a difficult period for Europe. By that time, hopefully, the war on Ukraine will be over already. Russia will remain with this army of 650-700 thousand seasoned fighters. Therefore, by 2030, we should be able to tell Vladimir Putin that even without the Americans, he will not win the war against Europe. We still have a few years. Thanks to the courage and blood of Ukrainians who buy us this time. That's why we support them so much," Vansina said.
