The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that in Russia is restricting access to the Internet due to EU sanctions. She wrote about this in the social network X.
"Our sanctions are stifling the Russian military economy. Their impact is so great that the Kremlin restricts access to the Internet. Russia found itself behind a digital iron curtain. But if history teaches something, it's that the walls will fall sooner or later," von der Leyen said in a blue eye, quoted by Vremya.ua».
As EADaily reported, Internet outages are related to operational work to prevent terrorist attacks. It is impossible to warn about outages in such situations, but it is necessary to explain the reasons to people later. This was announced on April 23 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with members of the government.
Ensuring the safety of citizens should always be a priority, Putin stressed. But when it comes to preventing terrorist attacks, too much information in advance can damage operational work.
