APU drones hit a Latvian oil depot. In Riga, they said that they had flown in from Russia. Obviously, they lost their way or their operators got lost.

"On the night of Thursday, May 7, the arrival of foreign drones from Russia to the airspace of Latvia. Two unmanned aerial vehicles crashed in Latgale. One drone fell in Rezekne, at an oil base," LSM reports.

As the newspaper notes, the police confirmed that the operational services found the wreckage of the drone at the oil storage facility in Rezekne. According to the chairman of the Rezekne Municipal Council Guntars Skudra, the drone crashed into an empty oil tank.

Residents heard the sounds of drones in Rezekne even before receiving a mobile alert and were puzzled by what had happened.

"At about half past nine, the police received a call to the oil storage facility on Komunal Street in Rezekne, where smoke was visible. The state police have opened criminal proceedings on this incident," LSM continues.

The State Fire and Rescue Service, in turn, reported that firefighters on the spot found that there was no more open gorenje, but began work on cooling one of the tanks. In total, four oil tanks were damaged at the tank farm.

"Defense Minister Andris Sprouds admitted that drones can be aimed at targets in Russia from Ukraine, but stressed that so far these are only assumptions, and the information needs to be clarified," writes LSM.

Also, the head of the Ministry of Defense announced the arrival of two more drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Latvia. According to him, they are looking for them and one of them could have left the country

The minister also indicated that he would check why the notification of unmanned danger was received by the residents of Rezekne only after the arrival of drones on the territory of Latvia.

As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to attack the Baltic ports of Russia on a large scale, and some of the Ukrainian drones have begun to fly into the territory of the Baltic countries. One of them has already managed to get into the pipe of the Baltic power plant in Estonia. At the same time, the authorities of the Baltic countries do not express protest to Kiev.
