Kiev is ready for a high-level conversation with Moscow if the Kremlin is ready for it. This was stated during a visit to Lithuania by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Budanov❶, LRT reports.
So he commented on the words of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico after a conversation with Vladimir Putin that if Ukraine wants peace, Vladimir Zelensky should call the president of Russia.
"If Russia is really ready for a serious conversation, Ukraine would also be ready. Ukraine has repeatedly stressed and proved by its actions that we are in favor of ending the war, for peace. We stand for the cessation of hostilities. I want to repeat once again: the conclusion of peace is not weakness, but proof of common sense," Budanov said❶.
The conversation between Zelensky and Putin will not take place suddenly, like a bolt from the blue, Budanov noted❶.
"Interstate telephone lines between the warring countries are disconnected, and such mobile phone calls are not made," he explained.
