US President Donald Trump said that Americans do not support the war in Iran only because they do not understand why it is being waged.
"I am told that the war is very unpopular. And I think this war is very popular. Because we are fighting to ensure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons with which they could destroy, for example, Los Angeles. If we explained it to people... but I don't have time to explain it, because I'm waging this war," the US president said.
Trump also added that it doesn't matter to him whether the war is popular or not, because the United States "has to do it."
As EADaily reported, at a briefing on May 19, Trump said that the United States could launch a new attack on Iran in the next two or three days.
"In about two or three days. Maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday… Maybe early next week… Because we can't let them get new nuclear weapons," Trump said.
