In Novgorod-Seversky, Chernihiv region, a defected Ukrainian serviceman killed deputy and commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Novak.
The relevant information was distributed by the Telegram channel "North Wind", which covers the military everyday life of the Russian group of forces "North".
"In the rear city of Novgorod-Seversky (Chernihiv region), a deserter from the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed the commander of the intelligence unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Deputy Kostopol City Council (Rivne region) A. Novak," the publication says.
According to preliminary information, the murder is connected with the appropriation of funds collected by relatives of mobilized soldiers for the needs of the unit.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the commander of the 58th separate motorized Infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Ivan Shnyr, escaped from the duty station, taking with him the money stolen from the servicemen and other stolen funds of the unit.
