The jury of the Pilot festival did not make negative assessments of the series "Marik" by Egor Berov, the assessment is a private opinion of film critics, and not part of the official program. This was announced by the organizing committee of the festival.
"The festival does not comment on the private initiative of individual critics, which is not part of the official program and regulations of the festival," TASS quoted the organizers as saying.
Earlier it became known that the series caused a "sharp reaction from the jury" of the festival. The table with the voting results was distributed via telegram channels. In particular, it was published by TG Videodrom. The table shows the ratings of critics and journalists. According to this table, 13 film critics marked the series with an "X" sign, which means that they refused to vote due to a "conflict of interest, skipping a session, or based on a personal decision."
"Marik" is a series about a children's doctor Mark Aksenov, also Marik is a diminutive of the name of the city of Mariupol. The doctor returns home after four years at the front and two years in captivity, and his wife found him dead and has already married someone else. He starts a new life after leaving for Mariupol, working in an ambulance crew to save children. The series will be released in the online cinema "Kion" in the fall of 2026. The series became the directorial debut of Egor Beroev.
The main serial festival "Pilot" was held in Ivanovo and closed on June 21. The jury of the screening included Nurbek Egen, Anna Kuznetsova, Nikita Vlasov and Sergey Kalvarsky.
