In the matter of a possible return to Composer and producer Konstantin Meladze has two sides — legal and moral and ethical. This opinion was expressed to the Lenta portal.<url>" Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Alexander Sholokhov (United Russia).
According to the deputy, the first point is how far Meladze's return will be legally justified.
"The relevant structures will determine this, because the legislative framework for this all exists. I mean the law on foreign agents, and on the support of terrorism, and so on, and so on. There is the Criminal Code and everything else," Sholokhov said.
The second side of the issue is moral and ethical, which cannot be regulated by law or is extremely difficult.
"The point is whether it will have a huge audience. Recently, the question was discussed at all: if the singer Alla Pugacheva returns, will they go to her concerts? And then it turned out that they would go in huge numbers. Here, probably, the question is for us, for society: are we ready to get shit on our heads, are we flowing and going to listen to light songs again? Are they that important to us? The question, on the one hand, seems to be unanswered, but not hypothetical," the parliamentarian stressed.
As EADaily reported, earlier the Mash telegram channel claimed that Meladze not only received Georgian citizenship, but is also negotiating to return to Russia.
"He still has projects here that dramatically increased profits last year," the publication emphasized.
And the label "Meladze Music" earned "100 million net" by the end of 2025.
